Aquaculture Resources

Provides hands-on support to seafood and crawfish producers, processors, and entrepreneurs — including scale-appropriate processing equipment, value-added product development, food safety training, packaging, and compliance assistance. LSU

A NOAA-affiliated research, education, and outreach program working on fisheries sustainability, seafood sector resilience, aquaculture, coastal communities, and seafood safety.

While focused on rice, this facility frequently partners with crawfish producers to optimize rice-crawfish rotation systems, yield, and water management — directly benefiting crawfish farming economics.

Part of the LSU AgCenter, AGGRC preserves aquatic species genetics through cryopreservation, helping protect crawfish and other industries while supporting selective breeding and long-term sustainability.
