A Vision in Motion: Building a Learning Culture in Facilities

A Vision in Motion: Building a Learning Culture in Facilities

When Dr. Anzilla Gilmore stepped into her role as Associate Vice President and Chief Facilities Officer in September 2023, she brought with her a powerful vision鈥攐ne that鈥檚 transforming the future of Facilities 星空无限传媒.

At the heart of her vision is the creation of a learning organization鈥攁 place where staff are empowered to grow, develop new skills, and embrace lifelong learning. In a learning organization, continuous improvement isn鈥檛 just a goal鈥攊t鈥檚 a way of life. It thrives on curiosity, collaboration, and the courage to try new things.

To bring this vision to life, Dr. Gilmore established a dedicated Organizational Development unit, led by Executive Director Dr. Tammy Millican and Program Manager Trevor Paul. Together, they began meeting with staff across the department, helping each individual map out a personalized path to educational and career success.

These conversations sparked a movement.

Staff are now actively pursuing a wide range of goals鈥攆rom completing high school equivalency programs, earning certifications through LSU Coursera, enrolling in vocational training for skilled craft apprenticeships, and even pursuing associate degrees at local community colleges. Some are taking the leap into post-baccalaureate certificates and full degree programs through LSU Online. Many are participating in the LSU tuition exemption program, working toward undergraduate and graduate degrees while continuing their important work on campus.

This is more than professional development. It鈥檚 a culture shift.

It鈥檚 about unlocking potential, celebrating ambition, and creating a workplace where growth is not only supported鈥攊t鈥檚 expected and encouraged.

Congratulations to the following Facilities staff members who are taking bold steps toward their educational and career goals:
