CODATA Appoints Jennifer Qian, EdD, to Lead Data and AI Policy Subgroup

BATON ROUGE, LA 鈥 Jennifer Qian, EdD, associate professor of learning analytics and educational technology and educational technology program leader in the LSU Lutrill & Pearl Payne School of Education, has been appointed to lead the within the International Data Policy Committee of , the Committee on Data of the International Science Council. 
Qian was first named to the CODATA International Data Policy Committee in 2024. This expanded leadership role places 星空无限传媒 the College of Human Sciences & Education in a global forum dedicated to advancing responsible, ethical, and effective data and AI policy.
Qian鈥檚 current scholarship examines the educational implications of AI, including AI models, AI policy, AI literacy, AI pedagogy, and human鈥揂I collaboration. Her work explores how AI programs, prompt engineering, AI-integrated instructional design, virtual and immersive learning environments, and human鈥揂I collaboration can support teaching, learning, and workforce preparation.

CODATA promotes international collaboration to improve the availability, accessibility, and usability of data across all areas of research. In the United States, CODATA鈥檚 member organization is the National Academy of Sciences. CODATA supports the principle that data produced by research, as well as data that can be used for research, should be as open as possible and as closed as necessary.
