How To Start A Student Organization

LSU has over 400 student organizations and clubs on TigerLink, covering everything from academics, professional interests, and just for fun. And guess what? This list is not set in stone 鈥� there's room for every interest to shine! Many students, both past and present, took the lead and started their own groups to connect with like-minded students. 

If you're ready to start your own org but don't know where to begin, we've got your back! It鈥檚 a simple three step process: 

  1. People. Gather three students to serve as student officers and a campus advisor. The campus advisor must be a full-time staff or faculty member.
  2. Structure. Create your constitution to lay out the ground rules. Campus Life can help you with this!
  3. Compliance. Register on TigerLink. You and another officer will need to complete the annual training and have your members complete the hazing prevention training.  

In the Fall 2023 semester, 34 new student organizations were formed. Bravo to theses orgs!
