LSUS Expanding International Student Enrollment and Developing Worldwide Partnerships Through Team Building
June 27, 2024
LSUS has added five international students to its Technology through a new outreach program, with hopes of increasing that number to 100 or more in the coming years through growing relationships with international institutions.

Dr. Sanjay Menon, left, and Dr. Subhajit Chakrabarty, third from left, of LSUS join officials from Bhagwan Mahavir University to mark a memorandum of understanding between the two universities.
The program鈥檚 goal is to boost LSUS鈥 computer science enrollment, meeting growing demand in the workforce while helping international students receive a quality education while reducing their admissions waiting time and out-of-pocket fees.
Dr. Subhajit Chakrabarty, program director for LSUS鈥檚 masters in Computer Systems Technology (MSCST), is a native of India who has taught in the Indian university system. He has led LSUS in making connections with the universities, with more memorandum of understanding agreements (MOUs) in the works. Chakrabarty and Dean of Graduate Studies Dr. Sanjay Menon visited numerous Indian campuses over the past two years. These universities in India and Bangladesh have large student populations, particularly in technology and science programs, and interest in the LSUS program is high.
鈥淭he MOUs open the door for further exploration and conversation, and these agreements help us promote our program on these campuses,鈥 Chakrabarty said. 鈥淲e have internships and other work opportunities built into our program, and those are valuable options to gain experience as part of the education.鈥
